WIS is searching for a motivated photojournalist to join our award-winning team.  If you are creative and ambitious and would like to work for a legacy station where visual storytelling comes first – this is the job for you. Basic duties include shooting and editing news stories, conducting interviews and coordinating live-shots with reporters along with crafting sound stories. The ideal candidate is adept with video and editing equipment and has a real vision for storytelling.

 

General Responsibilities:

·         Operate field camera

·         Ability to quickly edit

·         Lighting

·         Conducting interviews

·         Covering breaking news, general assignments and feature stories

·         Excellent communication skills to relay field information to the newsroom

·         Operate live equipment

 

Qualifications:

·         Ability to story tell using video, utilizing natural sound and creative editing techniques

·         Hands-on experience with editing software

·         Able to conduct interviews to get information

·         Must be able to lift/carry camera equipment ranging from 20lbs-25lbs.

·         Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record

·         Good decision-making skills and news judgement

·         Ability to represent the station professionally in the community and newsroom

·         Must be able to work well with others and on team assignments
