WIS-TV in Columbia, South Carolina is looking for a full time Digital Content Manager to help lead our team. We are consistently one of the top digital performers in Gray Media.
The DCM leads the digital department and oversees daily planning, coaching and execution of content on our website, mobile, CTV and social media platforms. The ideal candidate for this job has a firm grasp of how news content is created and consumed in both the broadcast and digital arenas. We are looking for someone with a vision to implement and grow digital on multiple platforms. You will work with news managers on strategies for WIS content. You will have a voice in the daily editorial and are encouraged to innovate.
This person must be creative, energetic, competitive and a problem-solver with strong communication skills. We are looking for someone who is both a team player and a leader. Our Digital Content Manager should also have a background in journalism with excellent web writing skills and be proficient in AP style. The DCM needs to understand and execute ethical and responsible news judgment. You will also work closely with marketing, sales and production teams.
A College degree in Journalism or a related field is required along with 3 or more years of newsroom experience, with at least one year as a manager or in a leadership position preferred. Basic knowledge of photoshop, digital video editing, brand management programs and content management software is a plus.
