About Our Agency:
South Carolina ETV (SCETV) is the state’s public educational broadcasting network. SCETV amplifies South Carolina voices, provides educational experiences, and strengthens communities while working to create a stronger, more connected, and informed South Carolina. SCETV provides national and local content to classrooms via internet services Knowitall.org and PBS Learning Media. SCETV also provides teacher training and re-certification in face-to-face and online settings.

JOB DUTIES: 

Trade Assistance and Collaboration:
Perform semi-skilled trade duties, assisting skilled trade workers in repairs, maintenance, and construction projects. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks.

Complex Maintenance and Construction:
Execute complex maintenance and repair tasks in areas such as carpentry, masonry, electrical systems, painting, drywall, and plumbing. Address and resolve issues related to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems as necessary.

Preventative Maintenance:
Initiate and conduct preventative maintenance activities, including:
-Changing filters and belts for HVAC systems and water fountains.
-Cleaning coils in HVAC units.
-Replacing batteries in devices such as Automated External Defibrillators (AED), fire alarms, and card reader systems.
Develop and follow maintenance schedules to prevent equipment malfunctions and extend system lifespan.

System Efficiency and Improvements:
Evaluate and recommend improvements to enhance the efficiency of HVAC systems, lighting, and other equipment. Monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal operation.

Safety and Compliance:
Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with relevant safety regulations and standards. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures. Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, including materials used and time spent on tasks.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
Trades experience that is directly related to the area of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of safety practices relevant to the area of employment. Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials and supplies used in the designated trade. Knowledge of techniques, methods and practices used in the designated trade. Skill in the use of various trade tools and equipment. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to perform heavy manual labor. Ability to perform arithmetic. Ability to communicate effectively
