Bill Wood of Chesterfield, SC brings home the Emmy Award for Writer.
Wood is the television features reporter for WGNO Good Morning New Orleans. His Emmy Award is for a compilation of his TV storytelling over the last year.
He titled his award-winning collection of TV tales: “Bill Wood if He Could”
The Emmy is the award for excellence in television. The Emmys are awarded by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
“Winning an Emmy is an honor and even bigger, it’s a blessing, ” Bill Wood says.
“When I was a kid, I was fascinated by television and wanted to crawl inside that TV set. Way back then, I thought it was magic. It was. And it still is today.”
Bill is the son of Pamela Wood of Chesterfield. His dad is the late Jack Wood.
He’s a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of South Carolina. And he holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University.
Bill’s first job in broadcasting was at WIS-TV in Columbia, SC while he was a student at USC.
With this 2023 award, Bill Wood now has 24 Emmys.
