Requirements: JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Entry level position as TV camera operator and floor director Operate TV camera (studio and remote) Floor direct for live and taped productions Operate TV studio cameras by physically moving cmaera and operating controls Operate remote cameras by lifting, moving and operating controls Floor direct by verbal and non-verbal cues to talent Assist talent as verbally directed by supervisor Set-up of set materials: building, lifting, arranging, lighting and cabling. Tear down and removal of same Maintain studio by cleaning, vacuuming, storage and organizing equipment and set materials Must work well with others Other duties as assigned by supervisor PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Requirements: This position reports to the Sr. Executive Producer and will be primarily responsible for gathering story info from various news sources, determining the newsworthiness and making decisions on what stories to cover and assign/dispatch crews. This position is also ideal for candidates interested in Associate Producing. There will be opportunities to write and fill-in produce for newscasts, as needed. Must be aggressive and thorough in responding to breaking news. Research and select news stories through multiple sources including: news wires, websites, social media, newspapers, scanners and email. Responsible for daily communication with police and government officials and agencies. The incumbent must develop reliable sources to help in obtaining, and confirming information for newscasts. Secure and organize elements for newscasts such as electronic audio and video files, photos and documents. Must have broad working knowledge of online databases, as well as broad working knowledge of court and police procedures. Write and publish stories for fox46charlotte.com and consistently publish to social media channels. Coordinate, dispatch and communicate with crews to planned and breaking news events. Work closely with reporters, producers and managers to develop stories and story ideas. Answer viewer calls and emails and speak with community contacts. The ideal candidate must be well organized, able to manage multiple projects and work well in a fast-paced environment while working under tight deadlines. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: A minimum of two years’ experience in TV news, including assignment desk experience preferred. Strong working knowledge of the technical aspects of television news production required, including digital and web-based newsgathering tools. The candidate must be able to use newsroom computer systems, including AVID iNews and AVID search, editing and graphics systems. Strong communication skills are a must. The best candidate must be able to complete required administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays, with a flexible schedule to accommodate breaking news and weather event coverage is required of this position.
