Verifies time slots and program availability; provides information on needed program announcement spots and program promotions; oversees scheduling of spots and announcements; authorizes changes to original program log and performs related duties as required. Provide training for other Radio staff in Pro-Track, Traffic Radio s and log maintenance. Oversees and ensures Radio's underwriting contract fulfillment (over $600,000 in revenue) is in compliance with FCC regulations and licensing. Assigns underwriting copy. Oversees the automation programming of produced spots are properly scheduled and saved on UW server. Serves as primary backup for TV underwriting scheduling. Serves as backup for Program Director/Operations Manager. Monitors broadcast metrics by which Radio programming decisions and purchasing practices for programs are implemented. Serves as member of Radio Emergency Planning Team, assisting and/or functioning as the Emergency Preparedness Point Person. Monitors AP Wire, internet, email, fax, for breaking news, severe weather, state agency closings, and any other potential emergencies. On-air talent and operation of the on-air board during pre-recorded and live events, which includes, but is not limited to, fundraising events. Produces and voices on-air both live and prerecorded material for broadcast. Supports social media and digital content strategy presenting a unified and creative public media presence. Generates content for social media platforms. Supervises staff responsible for programming automation systems for both programming services. Requirements: MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma and experience or additional education in production of radio or television programs. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Arts or related field and three (3) years of relevant production experience. Television/radio traffic experience desirable. Copywriting experience and familiarity with Protrack Traffic System a plus. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Considerable knowledge of methods of radio program development and production. Considerable knowledge of Federal Communications Commission rules and regulations. Ability to select programs and determine programming for an audience. Ability to manage program production from inception to realization. Strong verbal, written, and proofreading skills required. Excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as high attention to detail and accuracy are required. Ability to work in a collaborative manner with an aptitude for cultivating positive relationships. Ability to self-start using a creative and professional demeanor; work independently to problem solve; set priorities and manage deadlines and simultaneous projects.
